Quality In Tutoring Ltd is committed to high standards of professionalism, safety, accountability, and service delivery across all tutoring work.
Employment practices
- Tutoring opportunities are offered on a self-employed basis with fixed-hour agreements.
- Sessions may take place in schools, units or PRUs, local libraries, and students’ homes where considered safe and appropriate.
- Applications and onboarding are processed through TutorCruncher.
- Tutors undergo vetting, qualification verification, and enhanced DBS checking before assignments.
Safety and safeguarding
- Home-visit sessions require risk assessment in collaboration with the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead.
- Tutors must follow safeguarding policies, behavioural standards, and reporting requirements.
- Safeguarding concerns must be reported promptly to the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
- Safeguarding training and refreshers must be completed as directed.
Insurance coverage
Quality In Tutoring Ltd provides insurance through Hiscox Business Insurance, including professional liability, public liability, and employee protection relating to tutoring duties and associated responsibilities.
Professional conduct
- Tutors must act respectfully and professionally with students, families, and school staff.
- Student information, tutoring content, and company practices must remain confidential.
- Tutors must prioritise student safety and well-being.
- Sessions must take place in safe, appropriate learning environments.
Attendance and lateness
- If there has been no communication from the parent or guardian, the tutor must wait at least half of the scheduled session before leaving.
- If communication has been made and the student is running late, the tutor is expected to remain on site for the full scheduled session.
- Tutors must notify line management and the commissioning school of student absences as soon as possible.
- Where necessary, tutors may be reassigned to another nearby student to protect continuity of service and use commissioned hours effectively.
Compliance and updates
This policy is reviewed annually and may be updated to reflect changes in regulations, standards, or operational needs. Tutors are responsible for remaining informed and compliant with the latest policy standards.
